The Mayor is the Chief Executive and Administrative Officer of Marlboro Township and is responsible for enforcing the Township's Charter and ordinances and supervising all departments, employees, property, and equipment.

Superintendent
Dr. Eric Hibbs
As the superintendent, Dr. Hibbs oversees all school-related matters including curriculum, personnel, professional development, facilities planning, and budget development. In his time in Marlboro, Dr. Hibbs has transitioned the district to full-day kindergarten and generated millions of dollars in facility improvements and upgrades through the district’s ESIP program. Marlboro is consistently recognized by the State of New Jersey as a high performing district as per the state’s monitoring system.
The role of the School Board member is not to run the schools, but to see that the schools are well run. Boards operate through policy to be effective and efficient, and to avoid appearing to be arbitrary, capricious, or unreasonable. All district policies are public documents.

The Township Council is Marlboro's legislative body. It sets policies, approves budgets, determines municipal tax rates, and passes resolutions and ordinances to govern the town. The Council also appoints citizen volunteers to certain advisory boards and the Zoning Board of Adjustment. The Council may investigate the conduct of any department, officer or agency of the municipal government. They have full power of subpoena permitted by Statute.
